The Beecher Fire Protection District will host its Annual Open House on Friday, October 11th, from 5pm - 830pm at the Beecher Fire Protection District located at 711 Penfield Street Beecher, IL.
The public is invited to attend this free event. Interactive exhibits will include how to prevent and survive a fire inside your home and what it takes to be prepared for a major emergency. Children will be able to touch the fire trucks, engines, and ambulances and take photos. Eventgoers will be able to take photos with the firefighters and paramedics and Sparky the Fire Dog and learn how the fire engine pumps water. There will be a live fire demonstration and the importance of sprinkler systems. The open house will also feature a Fire Safety Superhero obstacle course for children.
The Will County Sheriff’s Office and Will County Emergency Management will be on-site answering questions about staying safe in emergency situations. The Will County Sheriff's Office will also have their Hidden In Plain Sight Trailer on site. The “Hidden in Plain Sight” program offers adults an insight into what your child may be hiding in their rooms. This hands-on learning opportunity focuses on alcohol and tobacco use to current trends in the abuse of other drugs such as cannabis, synthetic and “designer” drugs, opiates, cocaine, amphetamine-type stimulants, hallucinogens, and prescription drugs. We will also have a host of other vendors on site that provide valuable services to our residents.
Please join us for an evening of fun for the whole family!
